A new community that is posting up segments of "Moby Dick": [livejournal.com profile] the_white_whale. How cool is that? People, Moby Dick is AWESOME. It is one of the awesomest books ever written. Seriously! I just hope Mr. Melville doesn't get bored and stop posting before the end :D

And ... the fic year in review thing, because I like to have my fic all categorized and stuff.

Conclusions:

I love The Office. Woot!

My favorite story (of mine) this year:
"The Right To Remain Silent." Because the Dwight/Angela rocks my socks.

My best story this year:
I don't know... I like them all. I really do.

My favorite line of this year:

Alain shivers, caught up in the wind, watching the world end along the Beam.

from "Cradle To A Casket." Which echoes the beginning line, so I like that a lot.

Story most underappreciated by the universe, in my opinion:
Probably "sprains & pains." I don't even know how many people read it.

Most fun story:
Probably "Take It Easy," because I think I made it work. Lamb is a person, and Veronica is grown up, so when they get together, it's cool. I had fun writing it for [livejournal.com profile] winter_baby and she had fun reading it, so we all won.

Sexiest story:
Probably "the right to remain silent," if you like to think of Angela in Dwight's uniform shirt, which I do.

Story with the single sexiest moment:
I like the moment in "Take It Easy" when Veronica is thinking of cutting her bootlace. Sex for me isn't really about the Tab A, Slot B business.

"Holy crap, that's wrong, even for you" story:
Probably when Dwight kisses Kelly to shut her up in "Unfortunate Come-Ons." I have since regretted that section, as it objectified Kelly way too much, even for Dwight.

Story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters:
"Tres Cher!". My perception of Kelly was changing a lot (thanks to [livejournal.com profile] office_romances) but this cemented it.

Hardest story to write:
"Of Mice & Myth." Doggone Yuletide pressure made me nuts.

Biggest disappointment:
"Second Best." I don't think anyone liked it much, which made me not like it as much. Plus it's kind of maudlin.

Biggest surprise:
"Of Mice & Myth." I didn't think people would like it as much as they did.

Most revealing story:
Revealing about what?

A story I want remembered:
"Cradle To A Casket" and "Careless Love" are both very good for being so short. I'd like it if folks who read the Dark Tower would think of them from time to time.

Yeah we did!

And your Dark Tower link goes to your BBM story. How am I supposed to see the context of your favorite line even though I've never read Dark Tower if the link doesn't work? Hmm? How?
